I know people are curious about this year's Zombie-O-Rama as we normally start announcing dates at this time of year. As of now there is no date for an event this year.

Zombie-O-Rama and The SJDA have come to an amicable parting of the ways as the interests of Zombie-O-Rama and the needs of SJDA have gone in different directions. Our desire to see Zombie-O-Rama grow into a larger festival type of event was at odds with the Downtown Association's mission of bringing in people to the downtown San Jose area in particular on slower nights of the week (which is why the event moved back to Wednesday night last year). In all honesty since our gallery/store had to leave downtown it became less and less of a good strategic move on our part to work to bring so many people downtown as we had no way of benefiting from it even tangentially.

I also felt that the centerpiece of the SJDA Starlight Cinema event, the showing of a movie, was perhaps the thing of least interests to people who were coming to the event for the undead fun.

So, we are on the lookout for a new venue, it might be an outdoor one as it has been or it might be an indoor/outdoor mix of things. We are looking at several communities to partner with us , or we might just move the whole shooting match to the Fairgrounds.

Either way, we here at Art Boutiki and  Zombie-O-Rama both appreciate the support given to our own personal night of the living dead by the SJDA and wish them well with their movie nights and other endeavors.

In the meantime keep watching this spot for an announcement for Zombie-O-Rama VI
.

Zombie-O-Rama Goes Green

Picture
Thanks to a green grant from the City of San Jose E.S.D., Zombie-O-Rama V® is helping reduce our impact on the environment by diverting at least 75%of our waste from the landfill. We will also be recycling donated cans of food in the form of a Second Harvest Food Bank drive too!

Oh yes, be sure to bring a can of food to the event next week. This is, after all, a food drive.
